In Britain, bars and restaurants closed at 10, but many young people were still having fun on the streets of Nottingham.
About 13 million, or one in five Britons, are living with restrictive measures, and more than 4,300 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. The government is even considering a nationwide shutdown to halt the second wave of the pandemic.
In Spain, military tents reappeared in front of Madrid hospitals. With more than 11,000 new cases on Thursday alone, Spain is already facing the second wave of the pandemic and severe restrictions are returning.
For at least two weeks, the 850,000 people in the suburbs of Madrid will have to limit their trips to work, school or hospital only.
In France, Finance Minister Brino Le Mer is one of more than 13,000 new cases in the last 24 hours.
In several cities, such as Lyon, Marseille and Nice, gatherings of more than 10 people were banned, while bars and restaurants closed earlier.
