DJ and music producer Erick Morillo was found dead at his Miami home nearly a month after being charged with sexual assault.

Police found the lifeless body of the 49-year-old man after a call to Immediate Action. The cause of his death is not yet known.

Erick Morillo, born in New York, who grew up in Colombia before returning to the United States, was the creator of the 1993 hit “I Like to Move It.” He had won numerous awards, including Best International DJ.

In August, Morillo was arrested after a woman complained that he raped her at a party they met. The DJ had been released on a $ 25,000 bond and was due to appear in court again next Thursday.

The woman who made the complaint against him said that she, Morillo and another woman returned to the DJ’s house after the party. According to her, the 49-year-old woman made several immoral proposals, which she rejected. She also said that she finally went to sleep in the DJ’s room, dressed in all her clothes, but then woke up naked, with Morillo also standing, next to the bed.

The woman left the house and called for immediate action. According to AP, Morillo’s DNA was found in the rape test. When questioned by the police, he said that he did not have sexual relations with the woman, but with another, who confirmed their sexual contact.
