Under the JMC, all kinds of liturgy or religious ceremonies, including weddings and baptisms, will be performed with the participation of believers in all places of worship of all religious communities. The decision will take effect from May 17 to June 5.
According to informal information from the Ministry of Education, the JMC will declare that the maximum number of people allowed will be determined by the proportion of one person for every 10 square meters. So, for example, in a cult area of 300 square meters. the maximum number of people allowed will be 30. Attendees must keep a distance of 1.5 meters from each other. For places of worship that are more than 500 square meters, the corresponding maximum number is 50.
Public health measures to be taken will include, among other things, the recommendation for the use of a mask, the mandatory use of an antiseptic for hand hygiene and frequent cleaning of surfaces, and will be reported in detail to the JMC.
In addition, the ministry said in a statement that the JMC would incorporate recommendations and measures to protect public health that meet the specific needs and characteristics of individual religious communities, such as how to enter places of worship where shoes are not allowed.
It is also clarified that in case of performing religious services or ceremonies in open spaces, the general rules on public open-air meetings apply.
