From the first moment he saw his text about Alexis Tsipras’ house removed from Saturday’s newspaper, he sent a resignation letter to the newspaper’s editor, George Mandela.

He uploaded the short letter to Facebook, also writing the following:

Yesterday morning I sent a letter of resignation to Mr. George Mandela, director of Youth. It has not yet been accepted, it has not even been answered.

The companions of “neighbors” tell me how in the newspaper they did not expect me to publish the censored text. They thought I would just leave it like this and continue as normal every Saturday, as if nothing was running.

The “neighbors” also tell me that there are tensions and disagreements (to put it elegantly) on my subject.

But since, as a journalist, I have learned not to trust the testimonies of the “neighbors”, I am not going to expand. Anyway, I have made my decision.

I started at Nea twenty years ago with Leontas Karapanagiotis as director and I am leaving with George Papachristos as editorial consultant. Let it be. My love for the companions I leave behind.

PS: I do not give up to govern as other “neighbors” say. If I wanted to get into politics, I wouldn’t waste 25,000 euros a month when last year I was offered to be an MEP and I refused.
