A wave of solidarity is sweeping across Greece for the Smyrna victims of the great 6.7 Richter earthquake. Samos endured, although there is information about deaths, there are injured while the damage is small. Everyone’s eyes are on Samos and Smyrna, who are also getting tested. Many deaths and injuries have already been registered, but fears are expressed for a very difficult night.
In a message, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said that he had contacted his Turkish counterpart, M. Tsavousoglou, and expressed the willingness of the Greek government to send EMAK forces immediately to the neighboring country.
Despite the differences between the two countries, such an event can be an occasion for a wave of solidarity and aid to spread in the Turkish city.
There are many messages on twitter:
The images of #Smyrna they are shocking. There was an earthquake and a tsunami. People are suffering right now. Properties are lost. The pain of the peoples knows no limits. Solidarity unites peoples. pic.twitter.com/DPonG6e2i0
