Earthquake NOW near Antikythera – Newsbomb – News

According to the revised Geodynamic Institute solution The earthquake occurred at 8:21 p.m. on Tuesday. The magnitude of the earthquake was 3.9 Richter and the focal depth is estimated at 75.8 km.

The epicenter was reported 75 kilometers southwest of Antikythera.

Earthquake protection measures

Citizens can find specific instructions on what to do during and after an earthquake on the website of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection. The instructions are as follows:

If you are in the house

• Keep your mood.

• Avoid going through tunnels, bridges or overpasses.

What to do after the earthquake if you are indoors

• Prepare for aftershocks.
• Examine yourself and those around you for possible injuries
• If there are serious injuries, do not move them.
• Evacuate the building from the stairs (do not use the elevator), after first turning off the electricity, gas and water switches.
• Take shelter in an open and safe place.
• Follow the instructions of the Authorities and pay no attention to gossip.
• Do not use your car unnecessarily so as not to become an obstacle to the work of rescue teams.
• Use your landline or mobile phone in exceptional cases, as it causes overloading of the telephone networks.
• Avoid entering your home if you see damage, cut wires, gas, or gas leaks.
