Mr. Dougas also revealed the content of the messages that were sent to Artemis’s brother by strangers. An unknown woman said she sent a text message to her 19-year-old brother’s cell phone expressing interest in the investigations.
Specifically, he asked them if they had any news about the girl, that he understood their anxiety and assured them that if he learned anything he would contact them again. Three days later, the brother of the missing person received a new message from the same phone number that said: “I lied to you that I didn’t know anything about Artemis. I can’t tell you more because my own life will be in danger, until at night I put 5,000 euros in the specific bank account and in the morning Artemis will be at home “.
The family and their lawyer contacted the police and, following instructions from the authorities, asked the mysterious woman for information that Artemis is with her and is fine.
The woman did not give any response, instead she sent a new message in which she stated that she knows that 5,000 euros is a lot of money and that if they gave her 2,500 Artemis she would return home.
The family will now file an extortion lawsuit against strangers. The family’s lawyer appealed to anyone who saw Artemis in the Kantza area, near the Metro on or before October 16, when his mobile phone signal was cut off to communicate with the family, even anonymously.
Finally, he revealed that investigations are currently being carried out in an area outside of Attica, but very close to the Basin, as new data emerged about the fate of Artemis.
