An inconceivable tragedy involving the victim, a 55-year-old man, unfolded on Saturday morning in Derveni, outside Thessaloniki.
It all started when, amid torrential rain, a truck turned just before leaving Lagyna, downstream towards Kavala. Seconds later, a car collided with the truck and failed to stop.
He stopped helping and was dragged by another vehicle.
Seeing the image, a 55-year-old driver, a Georgian citizen, parked his car and drove to the scene to help those involved in the accident.
However, probably due to poor visibility and heavy rain in the area, the unfortunate man was swept away by an oncoming vehicle causing serious injuries.
The 55-year-old was rushed to Papanikolaou hospital in an EKAB ambulance, but it ended a little later.
A 62-year-old man was also injured in the accident, but suffered minor injuries and is being treated at the same hospital.
