See the dangerous email that threatens to fill your computer with malware.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate has recently reported incidents of receiving emails containing malware files.
In particular, the victim receives a message from an unknown email address, in which:
- the displayed sender name exists and belongs to your contact list,
- the content of the message is an excerpt from a previous conversation between the sender that appeared and another contact (or the victim herself),
- Attached is a file (usually Word) that contains malicious executable code (in disguise).
From the investigations carried out so far, it is found that the attached malicious file belongs to the category “Trojan Horse” (Trojanhorse).
This type of malware is used, which includes:
- open “back doors” in a system for the attacker to gain control of the infected device,
- intercept the user’s personal data and
- to download and run other malware.
In this context, Internet users and network administrators are urged to be especially careful and take security and digital protection measures to avoid malware infiltration.
