An incredible incident is said to have taken place Monday morning at a Cretan school, at the beginning of the new school year, according to a complaint posted on Zarpanews.gr.

According to the complaint of the Association of Teachers of the 2nd Baccalaureate of Eleftherios Venizelos, a teacher was beaten at the entrance of the school, when a student, accompanied by his father, was going to enter the school without a mask.

The teacher, according to the information, who was at the school gate, asked the father to put a mask on his son. He in turn refused and without further ado attacked the professor, causing the latter to end up in the hospital.

The Association of Teachers of the 2nd Baccalaureate of Eleftherios Venizelos today 09/14/2020 denounces and condemns the unnecessary and violent physical and verbal attack by a parent against a colleague of our school, which took place in the courtyard when the students came to the sacred communion.

As a result of the previous incident, the colleague went to the hospital for first aid.

The incident occurred due to the parents’ refusal to comply with the decisions of the Ministry of Education and Religions.

Our school’s teacher association will not tolerate such violent behavior and will do everything possible to protect its members by all fair and legal means. “
