Coronavirus: The first death of a police officer from coronavirus in Greece is a fact. A 50-year-old police officer passed away today Tuesday (1/12) in Komotini.
The policeman was hospitalized for 10 days in the ICU of the Alexandroupolis University General Hospital., struggling to stay alive. Unfortunately, he did not make it.
The 50-year-old was married with two minor children. He served in the Sap Department in Komotini. The President of the Panhellenic Federation of Police Officers, Grigoris Gerakarakos, reported:
“Unfortunately, we lost a colleague of ours to a coronavirus. He served at Komotini. He was 50 years old. I express my deepest condolences to his family and friends.”
