Traffic ban: the combination of the coronavirus pandemic with the influenza virus is of particular concern to the government and infectious disease specialists, as Greece continues to record triple-digit daily cases of the deadly new virus
The two new measures announced by Kyriakos Mitsotakis last week to stop the spread of the virus are in full effect as of Saturday. that is, the mask everywhere and the curfew from 12:30 pm to 5:00 am.
The government will consider in the coming days if the number of cases will stabilize, which will mean that these measures will bear fruit. But if the cases increase exponentially again, then it is very likely that new measures will fall on the table again.
The first two measures were aimed at young people, who are the ones “leading” the epidemic in the country. In the next phase, the elderly may need protection so that ICUs are no longer under pressure.
So the government is preparing to implement, in the next stage, and depending on the course of the virus, three more measures:
a) The prohibition of traffic outside the peripheral units that are in orange alarm
b) the additional reduction of hours in the restaurant and bars, that is, closing the Restaurant before 12 at night
c) restricting the travel of vulnerable people and people over 65 years of age.
