Coronavirus – Mexico: A 32-year-old doctor who gave him the Pfizer vaccine was admitted to the ICU

The Mexican authorities have announced that they are studying the case of a 32 year old doctor who has been hospitalized after vaccine dose of Pfizer and BioNTech.

The doctor, whose details have not been released, was admitted to the intensive care unit of a public hospital in the northern state of Nuevo León after seizures, shortness of breath, and skin rashes.

“The initial diagnosis is encephalomyelitis”said the Ministry of Health of Mexico. Encephalomyelitis is an inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.

The ministry added that the doctor have a history of allergic reactions and said there was no evidence from clinical trials to develop brain swelling after administration of the vaccine.

Pfizer and BioNTech have yet to comment on the incident, although in the past They have clarified that the vaccine is contraindicated in people with a history of allergies.
