The president of the Panhellenic Medical Association, Athanasios Exadaktylos, expressed concern about the increase in cases, shortly before the measures for all of Attica were announced.

“We are speaking with great concern about the figures: in July we had 12 deaths, in August a total of 65, in the first 14 days of August we had 18 deaths, in the first September 14 44 deaths. At the end of July we had 7 people in the Intensive Care Unit, yesterday we had 59 in Attica. “A large circulation of the virus, there is a need to limit circulation, we are entering a more unfavorable climatic environment entering winter,” he characteristically highlighted speaking to ANT1.
And I add: “The number of four-digit cases should not be considered unlikely. The numbers show a rebound. The options are restrictive measures in time or the collapse of the system.”
When asked to make a hypothesis about the actual number of cases, Exadaktylos said: “The cases, one could assume that they are five times, but this is arbitrary”
