Public hospitals should not send samples for coronavirus control to the laboratory of the National Blood Donation Center, says the administration of the center in its announcement to health structures. In particular, the relevant letter states that since yesterday 1.9.2020, “The National Blood Donation Center is unable to perform Covid-19 Molecular Testing for its structures. Due to the reckless use of the tests, the limit of the possibility of supplying reagents by EKEA has been exceeded.”

According to the information, the center carried out about 1000 tests per day and for this reason between 6 and 7000 reagents were supplied per week. But only on Monday did he seem to receive samples that agglutinate the entire weekly capacity and so he asked that the samples be sent to other laboratories. In other words, it lifted more weight than it was supposed to, with the result that the reagents were depleted and the molecular control slowed down.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, the inspections do not stop, there is simply the possibility of some delays in the results of the samples taken.

EKEA is expected to purchase new reagents before September 8 to begin receiving them again. News samples for analysis. The date is expected complete the next order.

Circles of the Ministry and EKEA, however, clarify that the Center has completed all the inspections it had received and has no pending issues. In fact, they ensure that the tests are sent without delay to the rest of the laboratories in the network and that the system has the capacity to cope with the new requirements formed by the temporary suspension of controls at EKEA.
