Attica is the focus of scientists’ concerns about the evolution of Covid – 19. Reducing cases below 200 per day nationwide, the goal set by Professor Majorkinis. EINAP President Matina Pagoni also recommends opening windows in winter.

Expert scientists are deeply concerned about the increase in their infections. coronavirus in Attica. The teacher expresses fear of emotion when returning from vacation in Cuenca Gikas Majorkinis. The opinion that until the vaccine arrives there will be other outbreaks is expressed by the president of EINAP, Matina Pagoni.

More specifically, Gikas Majorkinis, speaking in the SKAI newsletter, states that there is concern about an escalation of cases with the return of the holidays and especially in Attica. Referring to the peculiarities of the largest urban center in the country, he said that “the possibility of surrounding the epidemic with local measures in Attica is minimal or non-existent.”

“It is very easy to reproduce cases of orphans that are not related to each other and in general it is difficult to implement measures, so with the return of tourists we may see a small increase in Attica,” he added.

Regarding the opening of schools (September 14, 2020), the assistant professor of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Faculty of Medicine of the National and Kapodistria University of Athens, stressed that they must function as an educational system where children will learn to be protected , but not only in the classroom but also in the community.

Regarding Mr. Paraskevi’s statements about the third, fourth and fifth coronavirus in the winter, Mr. Majorkinis underlines that “what I think the colleague wants to describe is that we can see a regression. That is, instead of seeing the reduction and disappearance that we saw in May with the total blockade, which is the only way we can see such reduction, we should see a wavy shape that rises and falls depending on the effectiveness of the measures taken. ”.

Regarding the flu, he noted that there is a prediction that this year it could be milder in combination with the mass vaccination that is planned.

Majorkinis: spread of the virus between 50 and 60 years

In another part of his interview with SKAI, the professor pointed out that “the young people listened, showed a condescension with the measures and I consider it very positive. However, we see that the effectiveness of the measures does not go very well between 50 and 60 years and this should concern us. Or it is the transmission of the young people – that I do not believe or that the core has remained in 50-60 and we have to see how we face it ”.

At the same time, Mr. Majorkinis noted that we have avoided the bad scenario that wanted more than 700 cases by the end of August. “We are in a mediocre scenario at the moment where we see a gradual increase in the number of intubations that is definitely due to the eruption we had 7 days ago and a relative landing of cases. We will see if this continues and we would like to see less than 200 per day, “he said.

The president of EINAP (Athens-Piraeus Medical Association), Ms Matina Pagoni, is also focusing on the increase in virus cases. Speaking in the main ANT1 newsletter, Ms Pagoni underlines, at the same time, the increasing number of intubated in the ICU.

In his interview, he estimates that until the vaccine arrives, we will have other Covid-19 outbreaks in our country. Due to the development of the pandemic so far, he characterizes the situation as controlled, emphasizing the need for a reverent implementation of the State’s instructions.

“If we all understand that we must respect the measures, everything will be fine,” he says.

At the same time, it recommends the administration of the flu vaccine to all vulnerable groups, facing winter and until the coronavirus vaccine arrives.

As for next winter, EINAP President Matina Pagoni assures that it will be completely different. We should – he says – have the windows open at regular intervals to ventilate the interiors, whether of homes, offices or schools.
