Coronavirus – Lockdown: this is the next measure coming to Attica
The lockdown scenarios in the capital are “on fire” after the cases registered on Tuesday (03/11), while the prohibition to move from one region to another seems to be on the horizon.
However, the government was quick to end the lockdown scenarios of the capital, through government spokesman Stelios Petsas.
“In Attica we see an increase in cases, which is not exponential, as it was in Thessaloniki and Serres”, said Mr. Stelios Petsas, speaking to Open, emphasizing that the Basin is not close to closure.
“What we have to see is how the measures will work. Citizens to take measures to avoid the worst. If necessary, one of the measures we will take is a ban on interregional travel, we will not hesitate to do so, if our experts suggest it.He characteristically said.
“The blockade in Attica will last 15 days”
The need for quick decisions on a possible blockage was mentioned Wednesday morning by Microbiology professor Alkiviadis. Vatopoulos.
«I do not know if we can afford to wait for the measures to be effective. The committee of experts proposes stricter things than those adopted“Supported Mr. Vatopoulos by speaking to SKAI.
According to Mr. Vatopoulos the prohibition of moving from one prefecture to another was within the recommendations of the experts, however, it is partially covered by the measure prohibiting traffic after 12 pm
Finally, regarding the case of a generalized confinement, Mr. Vatopoulos said that it will last 15 days.
In any case, it appears that infectious disease specialists will wait a few more days to see the course of cases in Athens. Many will be judged on whether the new measures will work, as if cases did not stabilize or even fall, but followed an upward trend, pushing the UCI, so the widespread closure of Attica cannot be ruled out.
