An alarm was sounded over the course of the coronavirus pandemic in Thessaloniki at the regular meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during which epidemiological data across the country was examined.

In his presentation, Professor Sotiris Tsiodras presented the data with the number of cases and patients as well as the statistics for the image of the transmission of the virus in each area. Based on these data, in addition to the evaluation of the evolution of the pandemic in the areas that are already in the area of ​​greatest surveillance, it was found that they are beginning and observing some increasing trends in the Thessaloniki area.

For this reason, in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will have a teleconference with the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas and the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas, in order to discuss the application of sanitary standards.

The teleconference was attended by the Minister of Health Vassilis Kikilias, the Minister of State George Gerapetritis, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management Nikos Hardalias, the Deputy Minister of Health Vassilis Kontozamanis, the Deputy Minister in charge of Affairs, Stelios Petsas, the Secretary General of the Prime Minister Grigoris Dimitriadis, Secretary General for Health Services Ioannis Kotsiopoulos, Secretary General for Internal Policy Coordination Thanasis Kontogeorgis, Professor Gikas Majorkinis and the Chairman of the Drakopoulos Department.
