The data on the course of the pandemic in our country continue to be worrying, since for the second day the number of new deaths is in three digits (103 deaths), there was a negative registry of intubated patients (540) while the reduced number of cases reported (1,498) is due to the fact that much less tests have been carried out today.
In particular, tests totaled 12,698, well below the average number of tests which amounts to 20,000 to 25,000 tests per day.
The positivity index is also very high, reaching 11.8% (of the 100 tests carried out, almost 12 were positive) while the alarm threshold for this index is set at 4%.
Most of the cases are in Thessaloniki (305), Attica (218), followed by Larissa (84), Trikala (80) and Magnesia (79).
The curve of death
The severity with which the second wave of the pandemic hits our country is reflected in the curve of the number of deaths from March 12, when the first coronavirus patient in Greece ended, until November 21 (Source: DIANEOSIS).
- From March 12 to September 11, 300 patients died in 183 days.
- From September 11 to October 26, in a period of 47 days, the victims reached 600.
- From October 26 to November 11, that is, in the next 14 days, the cases increased to 900.
- From November 11 to November 17, in just six days, the death toll reached 1,200.
- From November 17 to 21, in four days, the death toll rose to 1,500.
It is worth noting that in the last 24 hours alone, 211 patients were added to the macabre list of COVID victims in Greece.
