Coronavirus: A week of intense testing for NSS – Health is coming

[ad_1]

The 300 ICU hospitalizations are expected to approach NSS hospitals in the coming days, as the spread of the coronavirus epidemic appears stiff for the moment. In any case, the results of the imposition of the ban are not expected before November 20, that is, about two weeks after the start day. Until then, with daily cases of 2000 or more, hospitals will be full and it is estimated that ICUs for covid will be fully covered.

Yesterday there were two negative records again. One involved 35 new deaths and the second 222 intubations of patients.

Note that intubations do not correspond to the number of beds occupied in Intensive Care Units, which are much more. For example, while the intubation on Saturday reached 210, the intensive care units that were covered were 252.

The biggest problem is in northern Greece, where the margins are very narrow. In fact, yesterday the highest percentage of new cases was detected there, at a time when hospitals in the wider area are at a critical point. At the same time, the widespread spread of the virus throughout the country is worrying.

It is worth remembering the data on the situation of the NSS that were published yesterday morning. Particularly:

ΣThere are currently a total of 1,063 ICU beds in operation throughout the country. Of these, 734 are employed and 329 are vacant (31%).

The non-COVID ICUs are currently 643, 475 are occupied and 168 vacant (26%), while the COVID-ICUs are currently 420. Of these, 259 are occupied and 161 vacant (38%).

The ICU-COVID serving the needs of Thessaloniki (including Halkidiki and Kavala hospitals) are currently 124. Of these, 93 are occupied and 31 are vacant (25%).

In Attica Hospitals, there are currently 168 ICU-COVID and of these, 112 are occupied and 56 vacant (33%).

The total number of beds available nationwide for the treatment of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 4,452 and the COVID-19 patients currently in treatment are 2,059 (total ICU, MAF, MEL, negative pressure chambers and individual beds )
