Coronavirus: 359 new cases in Greece – 9 new deaths – Health

The coronavirus pandemic in Greece is still advancing at a rapid pace, with the National Public Health Organization announcing on the afternoon of Thursday 9/17, 359 new cases, of which twenty-one associated with known confluences and 36 They were found after checks at the gates of the country.

The total number of cases is 14400, of which 55.6% men. Of these, 2,500 (17.4%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 6,070 (42.2%) are related to an already known case.

The dispersion in detail:

• 36 cases during controls carried out at the country’s entry gates
• 1 case that came voluntarily for control
• 212 cases in the Attica region, of which 9 are associated with known influxes, while 11 report recent travel within the country
• 18 cases in PE Thessaloniki, of which 2 are associated with known confluences

• 1 case in PE Argolida
• 1 case in PE Acaya- 1 case in PE Βοιωτίας
• 1 case in PE Grevena- 1 case in PE Evros- 5 cases in PE Imathia
• 3 cases in PE Heraklion – 1 case in PE Thiras- 3 cases in PE Ioannina
• 1 case in PE Kavala- 2 cases in PE Kalymnos, connected by a known confluence
• 1 case in PE Karditsa- 3 cases in PE Kastoria- 5 cases in PE Kozani- 1 case in PE Corfu – 1 case in PE Corinth – 1 case in PE Laconia- 2 cases in PE Larissa, of which 1 is connected by a known confluence
• 6 cases in PE Lesbos. of which 5 are connected to the Moria KYT
• 1 case in PE Magnesia- 1 case in PE Naxos- 2 cases in PE Xanthi- 1 case in PE Parou- 7 cases in PE Pella – 10 cases in PE Pieria, 2 of which are associated with known confluences
• 1 case in PE Preveza- 1 case in PE De Rethymno
• 1 case in PE Samos
• 7 cases in PE Trikala
• 1 case in PE Chania
• 1 case in PE From Halkidiki
• 1 case in PE Chios
• 16 cases are under investigation

Intubated, they are hospitalized 69 our fellow citizens. Their average age is 70 years. Of them, 21 (30.4%) are women and 48 men. 87.0% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older.

It should be noted that 178 the patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 9 more deaths recorded and 325 deaths in total in the country. 121 (37.2%) women and the rest men.

The average age of our dying fellow citizens was 78 years and 96.6% had some underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
