The health authorities confirmed again a particularly high number of new coronavirus infections, since on the afternoon of Thursday 9/24, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced thatThere are 342 new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease, of which 24 are associated with known outbreaks and 30 were detected after controls at the country’s entry gates.
About the new cases:
- 30 cases during controls carried out at the country’s entry gates
- 213 cases in the Attica region, of which 3 are related to known outbreaks, while 7 report recent travel within the country
- 11 cases in PE Thessaloniki, of which 2 are associated with known influxes, while 4 report recent travel within the country.

The total number of cases is 16,627 (daily variation + 2.1%), of which 55.7% are men. the 2,726 (16.4%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 6,915 (41.6%) are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 9, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 366 deaths have been registered. the 135 were women and the rest were men. The mean age of our dying fellow citizens was 78 years and 97.0% had some underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 68. Their average age is 68 years. 21 (30.9%) are women and the rest are men. 86.8% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.
Also 192 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
