Coronavirus: 312 new cases in Greece – The 174 in Attica – Health

The coronavirus epidemic in Greece continues to advance at a very high rate, as announced by the National Public Health Organization on Wednesday afternoon (16/9) 312 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 27 are associated with known outbreaks and 22 were detected after controls at the country’s gateways.

Of the 284 domestic cases, 27 are associated with known outbreaks, while 18 report recent travel within the country.

• 1 case in PE Kilkis, associated with a known confluence

• 7 cases in PE Lesbos, all related to a well-known influx at Moria Hospital
• 1 case in PE Messinia
• 11 cases in PE Pella, of which 5 are associated with known confluences
• 10 cases in PE Pieria
• 1 case in PE From Rethymno
• 4 cases in PE Trikala
• 1 case in PE Florina
• 14 cases are under investigation

The total number of cases is 14041, of which 55.5% are men. Of all cases, ta 2462 (17.5%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 5972 (42.5%) are related to an already known case.

In 67 our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 70 years. 20 (29.9%) are women and the rest are men. 88.1% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.

Also 176 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 3 more deaths registered and 316 deaths in total in the country. 118 (37.3%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our dying fellow citizens was 78 years and 96.5% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
