Coronavirus: 177 new cases in Greece – 260 dead | HELLAS

EODY announced 177 new cases of coronavirus in Greece on Saturday.

Specifically, the announcement of the National Public Health Organization states: Today we announced 177 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 20 were detected after controls on the country’s portals. The total number of cases is 9977, of which 55.6% are men.

2,033 (20.4%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 4402 (44.1%) are related to an already known case.

36 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 68 years. 11 (30.6%) are women and the rest are men. 47.2% have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 148 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 1 more death registered and 260 deaths in total in the country. 92 (35.4%) women and the rest men. The mean age of our dying fellow citizens was 77 years and 93.8% had some underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.

A 92-year-old woman ended up in a nursing home in Asvestochori

On Saturday, August 29, a 92-year-old woman who was hospitalized at Papanikolaou Hospital and was in a nursing home in Asvestochori ended up infected with the coronavirus.

The elderly woman suffered from underlying diseases and is the sixteenth victim of the nursing home to have lost her life due to the coronavirus. Yesterday, Friday, 270 new cases and five deaths were announced.
