The data presented refer to cases of the epidemiological surveillance of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), based on the data reported to EODY and registered until March 22, 2021 (3:00 p.m.)
The new laboratory confirmed cases of the disease registered in the last 24 hours are 1,707, of which 21 were identified after controls at the gates of the country.
The total number of cases is 238,830 (daily variation + 0.7%), of which 51.5% are men.
Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 79 are considered related to travel from abroad and 3,075 are related to an already known case.
Daily evolution of the pandemic: The daily distribution of confirmed cases is as follows (the line represents the total accumulated distribution of cases).
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 69, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 7,531 deaths have been registered. 95.8% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 681 (66.4% men). Their average age is 68 years. 80.9% have an underlying disease and / or are 70 years or older. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,592 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admissions of new Covid-19 patients in the hospitals of the territory are 394 (daily variation -23.05%).
The average seven-day admission is 472 patients.
The mean age of the cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 105 years), while the mean age of death is 79 years (range 0 to 103 years).
From the above cases:
- 801 are in Attica (774 yesterday).
- 130 are from Thessalonica (179 yesterday).
The new infections in the Basin and in the PE of the Islands come from the Peripheral Unit as follows:
- 93 Eastern Attica (120 yesterday).
- 91 from the northern sector of Athens (84 yesterday).
- West Attica 71 (57 yesterday).
- 120 from the western sector of Athens (82 yesterday).
- 212 of the Central Sector of Athens (214 yesterday).
- 70 of the South Sector of Athens (92 yesterday).
- Piraeus 131 (117 yesterday).
- Saronic Gulf Islands 13 (8 yesterday).
