Coronavirus: 169 new cases and one death in the last 24 hours HELLAS

EODY announced 169 new cases of coronavirus in our country in the last 24 hours and one death.

The new update of the organization also establishes that the serious patients of Covid-19, who are treated by intubation in the hospitals of the country, amount to 42.

Of the total number of new cases, 15 were detected at the country’s entry gates during sample checks by the Authority for the coronavirus epidemic.

“Today we announce 169 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 15 were detected after controls at the country’s entry gates. The total number of cases is 11,832, of which 55.8% are men.

It is considered that 2,274 (19.2%) are related to trips from abroad and 5,204 (44.0%) are related to an already known case.

42 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their average age is 69 years. 10 (23.8%) are women and the rest are men. 88.1% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. 164 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 1 more death registered and 290 deaths in total in the country. 107 (36.9%) women and the rest men. The average age of our deceased fellow citizens was 78 years and 96.2% had some underlying disease and / or 70 years or more ”.

Concern about coronavirus cases in Giannitsa

It is noted that some time ago it was known that a double-digit number of coronavirus cases was found in a factory in Giannitsa. The alarm came after the first positive cases were detected at the Giannitsa canning factory, which employs 680 people, many of whom are seasonal and live in nearby areas in Imathia, Thessaloniki and Pieria. The plant has reportedly detected at least 40 cases of coronavirus so far.
