The announcement of the confirmation of new coronavirus cases may indicate a decrease in new diagnoses, but this figure is not considered encouraging as fewer tests have been carried out.
It should also be noted that there were two new negative records in terms of new deaths and number of intubations.
Specifically on Monday afternoon, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced that the new cases are 1,490 with 390 in Attica and 412 in the Thessaloniki region.
The total number of cases is 58,187, of which 54.2% are men. 4,456 (7.7%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 15,977 (27.5%) are related to an already known case.
There are 239 of our fellow citizens who are treated by intubation. Their average age is 66. 59 (24.7%) are women and the rest are men. 87.0% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older.
It should be noted that the increase in intubation is expected to increase even further, since even if daily cases move to lower levels, this will not be immediately apparent in the need for intubation.
Finally, we have 41 more deaths registered and 825 deaths in total in the country. 335 (40.6%) were women and the rest men. The mean age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.5% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
In addition, 329 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
