Today marks seven years since the murder of Pavlos Fyssas. Since that tragic night when the musician was killed in his Keratsini neighborhood by George Roubakias’s deadly knife.

Seven years after the murder and 5.5 years after the start of a trial in which there have been dozens of misconduct, insults, attempts to silence and bullying.

All these years, every day, at every stage of the hearing process, Paul’s mother was present. Magda Fyssa, who became the face-symbol of a fight that had started years ago.

Because Fyssa’s murder was a murderous attack, but it wasn’t the only one. The Golden Dawn raiding battalions had already claimed the lives of many refugees, threatened, blackmailed, and beaten many of our fellow men.

At today’s anti-fascist march in Keratsini, Magda Fyssa was there again. In the front line with the rest of Paul’s family and friends. And behind the family banner hundreds of family sympathizers, citizens who want to see those responsible for Fyssa’s murder convicted. Not only the one who gave the knife, but also the moral perpetrators.

On October 7, the judges will announce their decision on the Golden Dawn trial and the family has asked people to support it outside of the Court of Appeals.
