Collapsed Building in Ermoupolis – Crushed Cars

A large wall of an old ruined building collapsed in the center of Ermoupolis. The incident took place at dawn on Thursday, February 25, on Georgiou Souri Street, in front of the Philharmonic building.

The wall of the building collapsed from the first floor, causing it to fall from a height on two parked vehicles, but also on a third passer-by, causing material damage. The road was completely closed by the fall of the wall.

Immediately after the incident, the police were notified, who rushed to the area for the relevant investigations and measures, as well as the Municipality of Syros-Ermoupolis, whose workshop with a machine (loader) and workers undertook the removal of rubble-materials from the demolished ruin for road and traffic restoration. Private machines also aided in the operation.

Fortunately, from the serious incident there were no injuries or other more unpleasant events, since at the time of the incident – as mentioned above – a car was passing by the place. car, driven by a woman.
