A 60-year-old man was killed early in the morning in Kallithea. This is Vangelis Pallis, 60, the so-called “Apatsi.”
The 60-year-old man was fired upon shortly after 04:00 a.m. at the intersection of Theseos and Kanakidis avenues in Kallithea. He was transported wounded to Evangelismos, where he ended up a little later. Vangelis Pallis had just been released from prison.
Who was “Apache”
Evangelos Pallis, in the years of his illegality, had served a life sentence for two murders, in 1995 and 2002, of a horse owner and a businessman respectively, after the execution of death contracts.
His stance on the uprisings in Trikala and Malandrino, his repeated transfers for disciplinary infractions, and his participation in the prisoners’ hunger strike of several days in November 2008 as a member of their steering committee brought him closer to the anti-authoritarians.
His trial in Larissa for his active participation in the uprising in Trikala prisons in 2007 led to street fights between anti-authoritarians and the Police, as soon as his new sentence, to three years in prison, was known.
