The new limits for passengers, taxis and trucks will apply from Monday, according to the infrastructure and transport ministry.
The announcement emphasizes that up to two (2) passengers in addition to the driver will be able to board starting Monday, January 25 at 06:00 in public passenger vehicles (EDX TAXI, Special Lease) and private passenger vehicles (IX), as follows as in EIX vehicles with driver, previous approval of the pertinent suggestions of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation by the Committee of Infectious Diseases.

It is recalled that the Official Government Gazette has been issued with all the new measures that will come into effect from Monday.
According to the new Joint Ministerial Decision “Emergency measures to protect public health from the risk of further spread of the coronavirus COVID-19”, published today Saturday, January 23, 2021, it is allowed to exceed this passenger limit only in two cases, if the vehicle are on board:
• (a) minor children whose stay at home under adult supervision is impossible; or
• b) a person who needs the assistance of a second passenger to travel.
What will apply to double cabins and vans
In addition, from the same day and time, up to three (3) people plus the driver may travel in double cab, mixed use and VAN type vehicles. It is allowed to exceed the occupant limit only if the vehicle carries minor children, whose stay at home under the supervision of an adult is impossible.
It is recalled that it is still valid that students who are served by taxi in non-urban areas, for their transfer to school, can travel up to four (4) people, upon presentation of a corresponding certificate from the school director.
