The ups and downs come from tomorrow, Saturday, January 30, in our country, where the health map comes into effect again. This means that after about three months, Greece will be divided into two levels: the “yellow”, in which what we knew until today will continue to apply, while the Gymnasiums and Lyceums will be opened.
The second level, the “red”, will include stricter measures, aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus and will be activated in areas where the condition appears to be escaping.
The… most important change on the epidemiological map is that of Attica in the “red” areas. As a result, after about 10 days of running the stores, the Basin, along with nine other areas, return to the now familiar method of clicking, while being invited to familiarize themselves with another method, clicking inside.
The detailed guide for the operation of retail stores in the “red” areas, based on the epidemiological picture, was presented today by the Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis.
“The crowded images are undoubtedly a great concern and since Attica goes through a red zone, we are obliged to take additional measures,” said the Minister of Development, who presented in detail the new way of operating the market.
Click Away and click Inside in the “red” areas
In the red areas, the entire market will operate with a click of a button, while for clothing, footwear and bookstores it will be allowed to buy by appointment to collect through the store by appointment (click inside).
This means that in these stores the customer will have to make an appointment and then be able to enter the store at the predetermined time to try the products they want to buy.
For both click away and click inside, there is the obligation to send an SMS, to 13033 with the number 2, so that citizens can make their purchases, with a restriction as was in force until today, of two hours.
Also, the stores will be closed on Sundays, in order to limit movement and images like Ermou’s last weekend.
The new measures come into effect on Saturday, January 30.
In addition, in its announcement, the Ministry of Development describes the protection measures that stores that accept customers with a maximum number of people allowed 1 person per 25 m2 must observe.
The above measures refer only to the “red” areas, while they will enter into force on Saturday, January 30. As for the opening hours, the suggested hours are from 7 to 20 hours.
Finally, in terms of service stores, such as hairdressers, beauty salons, KTEO and OPAP will operate by appointment only throughout the country. OPAP agencies will not open in the “red” areas.

In what areas will only gyms be open?
Another difference between the levels is the functioning of the schools.
The kindergartens and primary schools will continue their classes normally, while in the “yellow” areas from Monday the Gyms and Lyceums will open normally.
On the contrary, in the “red” areas, only the Gymnasium students will return to their desks, while the Lyceum students will continue their lessons remotely.
See in detail in which areas Gymnasiums and Lyceums will open and in which areas only Gymnasiums and Lyceums will continue distance education:
Of course, the return of the students to the desks will be done with the implementation of all the preventive measures included in the pertinent instructions of EODY and the Ministry.
The measurements are:
- the mandatory use of a mask indoors and outdoors.
- the different breaks for groups of students.
- fixed groups of students in sports and other activities,
- use of antiseptics
- school celebrations with measurements
- sampling controls by EODY
It should be noted that special education high schools will also function normally in the red zones.
