Climate: The General Secretariat of Civil Protection issued a new model model to deal with the consequences of snowfall and frost for municipalities
With the primary objective of the best possible shielding of our country against the consequences of snowfall and frost, the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, after the publication of the General Integrated Plan of Civil Protection Actions in matters of deal with the risks of snow and frost with the code name “North”, proceeded to the publication of a “Model Model of Emergency Response Plan and Immediate / Short-Term Management of the Consequences of the Occurrence of Snowfall and Frost” for preparation of plans by the municipalities of the country.
This new plan ensures harmonization of actions to deal with the consequences of snowfall and frost at the local level, in the model of the conditions provided by the General Plan “North”, while the responsibilities of the Municipalities are precisely described, which concern:
• In the synergies of winter maintenance agencies for joint management of snow and frost problems on the road network, in order to avoid emergencies.
• In planning and taking Civil Protection measures to attend emergencies and manage the consequences of snow and frost
They belong to the first category actions aimed at the synergy of the agencies responsible for the maintenance and operation of the road network in our country, which includes winter maintenance. The second category includes planning and taking Civil Protection measures (EL.AS, PS, EKAV, Decentralized Administrations, Regions, Municipalities, etc.), as well as network and infrastructure operators (HEDNO, IPTO, etc.).
In this way, the country acquires Consistent protection plans against the effects of snow and frost covering all the times involved, combining operational knowledge with scientific knowledge and providing specific action protocols.
