Until December 21, the state will pay the Christmas gift to suspended employees as provided by the corresponding JMC. Read what the Ministerial Decision provides in detail.
The Christmas Gift for employees is divided into three, based on the time period between May and December 2020 when they were suspended.
Specifically, it provides:
Employers whose business activity has been suspended by order of a public authority at any time within the period from 1.5.2020 to 12.31.2020, employers belonging to the most affected sectors, due to the negative consequences of the COVID -19 coronavirus pandemic, as well as the companies-employers of section 1 of article 5 of law 4728/2020 pay the Christmas vacation allowance corresponding to the actual working days of their employees during the period from 1.5.2020 to 12.31.2020.
The payment of the above relationship is made by the obligated employers during the time defined in the joint ministerial decision No. 19040 / 7.12.1981 (ΒΔ 742).
In the event that the hiring of employees from previous employers has been suspended by them or the employees have submitted unilateral suspensions and are part of the statutory regime of mandatory reemployment as defined in article 32 of Law 4690/2020 104 AD), the amount of the allowance for Christmas holidays, corresponding to the period or periods of suspension, is paid from the state budget, calculated on the compensation for special purposes of the respective period.
The payment of the previous relationship is made by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs through PS “ERGANI” and is paid directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries – employees, as follows: a. for the period of suspension of employment contracts until 11.30.2020, payment is made until 12.21.2020, b. For the suspension period of employment contracts from 1.12.2020 to 12.31.2020, payment is made until 01.31.2021.
3. a) In the event that employees have adhered to the “SYN-ERASIA” employment support mechanism, the amount of the Christmas vacation allowance, which corresponds to the period of affiliation to that mechanism and is paid by the employers , you will be paid by them accordingly. the time defined in Joint Ministerial Decision No. 19040 / 7.12.1981 (ΒΔ 742).
b) For the same category of employees, the amount of the Christmas vacation allowance, which corresponds to the period of inclusion in this mechanism and is charged to the state budget, is paid by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries – employees, as follows: ba. for the membership period until 11.30.2020, payment is made until 12.21.2020 bb. For the membership period from 1.12.2020 to 12.31.2020, payment is made until 1.11.2021.
