Following the award ceremony, the president and prime minister were led to the flag area, which began to rise to the Attic sky at exactly 8:03 am, to the tune of the Army band conducting a military raid. Soon after, internationally renowned soprano Anastasia Zanni sang the Hymn to Freedom by Dionysios Solomos.
The military band was attended by prominent musicians from across the Army Corps, while the presidential guard was also present at the ceremony. Soprano Anastasia Zanni, who has made several appearances in her career at major international events, participated in the flag-raising at the invitation of GEETHA today.
After the ceremony, the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister left to attend the eulogy in the Diocese of Athens.
