“Bridge of Life” was created on Sunday morning by Ministry of Health, EOM, EKAB and the Volos General Hospital, for the transfer of organs of a 35-year-old brain-dead person, who was hospitalized in the ICU of the Volos General Hospital since April 13, after serious accident (fall from a great height).
The family of the unfortunate young man decided to donate his vital organs.
Thus, in consultation and under the coordination of the National Transplant Organization, the heart was transferred to Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, the corneas at the AHEPA Thessaloniki University General Hospital, the liver and the kidney at the Thessaloniki Ippokratio General Hospital and the other kidney at the Athens Laiko General Hospital.
