Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla today announced the company’s intention to invest in Greece.

The announcement of the company’s investment plan was made during the debate at the 31st Greek Economic Summit.

In particular, according to APE-MPE, Mr. Bourlas elaborated on Pfizer’s investment in Greece.

As he highlighted, the company is working and will work in the future on the development of its digital infrastructure and that is why it chose Thessaloniki to create one of its hubs. He added that despite the pandemic that caused delays, 200 people will work in Thessaloniki before the end of the year and said they are very satisfied with their talents and skills, noting that 15-20% of the applications the company receives for jobs come from of the Greeks who had gone abroad during the crisis and now want to return.

In fact, he revealed that Pfizer’s design includes the creation of another hub in Thessaloniki that will serve the company internally and another 350 people will be able to work there. In total, the two centers will initially employ 600 people, he said, with the prospect of doubling that number.

“We see that the environment changes in Greece. It is a country that invites us to invest in it and I am very happy about that, because it is my country. And I know that the world community feels the same,” concluded Mr. Bourlas, and Mr. Mitsotakis took the floor and expressed his satisfaction and added:

“What many do not know about Greece is our talent and the experience of those who worked in large companies abroad and now want to return to their country. That is why we give them incentives for 2021 and for the next few years ”. He concluded with a message to Mr. Bourlas and the CEOs of other large multinationals involved in the debate (Philip Morris, Deloitte): “The more you talk about your experience, the more people will come to invest in Greece. In a Greece that is changing” .
