The government is examining a “bomb” proposal for a universal 15-day shutdown across Greece and not just Attica, following the current negative case and intubation history announced by EODY.
On the table right now is the proposal to impose a lockdown like last March with a traffic ban throughout the country, but for a specific period of time, in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
If this is decided and imposed for a period of two weeks, until Monday the 15th of carnival, then teleworking should be greatly increased, while there is talk of more intense and strict controls by the competent bodies.
In fact, in an extraordinary meeting, the committee of experts of the Ministry of Health examined the map with the epidemiologically burdened areas and in tomorrow’s meeting they are expected to suggest additional measures.
“The historical date”
Speaking to MEGA, the professor of pulmonology and vice president of the Hellenic Pulmonary Society pointed out that this increase in cases was expected in the first week of March and was predicted by the prognostic model used by scientists.
“According to the model, this will be the peak of the wave and we hope that after March 10 a stabilization and a slow de-escalation will begin.”
Mr. Tzanakis pointed out that the de-escalation of the third wave will be slow but constant, while regarding the possible lifting of some restrictive measures, the professor emphasized that the historical date for Attica could be March 20.
Sarigiannis is in favor of hard blocking
AUTH Professor of Health and Environmental Engineering, Demosthenes Sarigiannis, supports the adoption of a serious and tough blockade like last March, which will last more than two weeks to stop the spread of COVID-19.
“Either we take it seriously, a total lockdown and implement it seriously, or we really have to open up and operate there with the best possible security measures,” he said.
“I believe,” he explained, “that we must remain consistent in what the country set itself as a goal from the beginning and therefore go to a stricter but more serious confinement.”
“In practice, we do not implement the measures correctly,” Sarigiannis told ERT, although he acknowledged the tiredness of the citizens that leads to outrage.
“If we talk about opening 16 retail stores, schools, to return to a degree of normality, obviously things are difficult. Obviously at some point there will be a positive effect of vaccines, but for now the situation is difficult. “It was predictably difficult, but this cannot continue.”
“For me, tomorrow we will have to close strictly for more than two weeks. We will not be able to reach satisfactory decompression figures in two weeks. Let’s be honest. The situation is difficult,” he stressed.
Changes in codes “4” and “6”
The reformulation of codes “4” and “6” is currently being considered. There may be a new number to exercise. This is because technically the system detects that there is a problem since you cannot send one or two messages.
One suggestion on the table is to stop using the number 6 to stroll along the beach and explore the mountains.
Thus, it is not ruled out that the experts suggest that the use of number 6 is done strictly for physical exercise and not for walks in other municipalities and in general outside the citizen’s home.
With regard to “4” it has been observed that it is used as frequently as “6”. The decision is to change the use of “6”.
