At a time when cases in Attica are steadily increasing, the possibility of a padlock looms.
Attica is experiencing dramatic moments. The “map” of the coronavirus pandemic now shows it permanently in red and in the next few hours it will be seen if a total lockdown will be avoided throughout the prefecture.
What do infectious disease specialists suggest, what does the government want?
Wanting to avoid a second blockade and its effects on the economy, the government’s scientific committee engages daily in paper exercises to propose … anti-blockade measures to stop the second wave of coronavirus that threatens to “bring down” reference hospitals and especially the Intensive Care Units.
The infectious disease specialist and member of the competent commission, Marios Lazanas, insisted on tightening the measures with the mandatory use of a mask and outdoors to stop the spread of the coronavirus, speaking to SKAI this Thursday morning.
As he pointed out in the Committee of Experts, the closure or the closure of schools has not been raised as a topic of discussion, without, however, being discarded for the future, if the current measures do not work.
“The blockade is economically painful. What is required is the tightening of the measures with the mandatory use of the mask inside and out,” said Mr. Lazanas characteristically, noting that it is a low-cost and protective measure.
At the same time, he stressed the need to take measures for public transport congestion by increasing the frequency of services and if there are not so many means, the government could proceed to rent a bus.
Regarding workplaces, the infectious diseases specialist proposed an increase in the telework rate, highlighting of course the need to secure jobs so that workers are not laid off due to the measure.
The key dates
The estimates have become … whispers in recent hours, which may take official form from the most official lips: those of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
According to what infectious disease specialists have announced, at the moment the most likely dates for a closure in Attica are two: September 28 and October 5.
Of course, we always refer to the 10 critical days that the experts have given us to “calm” the coronavirus pandemic.
Otherwise, if not possible the implementation of the Madrid plan, the lock on Attica will be inevitable …
