Lockdown: 2020 said goodbye to us yesterday, in silence, as the whole year evolved. A year that found the world living under new conditions and data, but also uncertainty.
2021 has arrived, but the agony, the masks and the distances will remain for several more months in our lives, despite the vaccine against the coronavirus that will offer redemption.
Our country, which has been in a state of lockdown since the beginning of November, will continue to be tested and in fact the next three winter months are probably the most critical, since the recently observed relaxation may bring the third wave of the pandemic, which also will give the free injection to the health system.
The fatigue of the restrictive measures of the two blocks is great and everyone’s eyes are on eliminating the block. But that, as everything shows, it will be delayed, since the epidemiological curve is on the tight rope.
On New Year’s Eve, a large number of new cases were announced for another day, ie 932, showing that the reduction in spread is slow and can change at any time. At the same time, Attica is in the vortex of the pandemic, with the capital registering 365 new cases of the virus.
In the first days of 2021 and specifically on January 4, the government will be called upon to make important decisions for the opening of schools, while it will have to decide on restrictive measures, which expire on the 7th of the month.
However, the extent of the confinement is taken for granted (schools can only open) with experts stressing that epidemiological data does not allow for hasty movements.
