One of the most beautiful villages in Greece has almost disappeared.
The images of Assos, in Kefalonia, where the torrents washed away tons of stone and dirt that covered entire cars, are shocking.
The torrential waters of the torrent in Cephalonia and the transported materials washed away everything in their path not to mention fortunately the injuries.
Cars buried in the mud and stones, debris everywhere, fallen trees, demolished shops, people fighting to save what they can and then … all buried under the mud.
Assos beach, with its picturesque alleys, is practically non-existent as tons of mud and debris were transported into a torrent of a stream in the area.
