On Monday morning an alarm sounded at Attikon Hospital when, according to POEDIN representative, Mr. Michalis Giannakos, a patient attacked a nurse with a knife and then committed suicide.
The patient who assaulted the nurse was treated at the Attikon Cardiology Clinic.
As Mr. Giannakos reported to in.gr, a patient attacked and seriously injured the nurse with a knife. Then he jumped into the void from the fifth floor of the hospital, ending his life.
The POEDIN representative spoke about a tragic event, while emphasizing that the nurse is out of danger.
According to information from the Hellenic Police, it is a 59-year-old patient of Albanian origin, who was hospitalized on the fifth floor.
The patient went down to the 1st floor, hit the nurse in the neck with a sharp object and went up to the 4th floor where he jumped out the window.
It is noted that the incident occurred shortly before 5.30 in the morning and no further details about the attack have been known so far. The preliminary investigation is carried out by the police.
