There was heavy snowfall in the early hours of the morning in Attica. The intense meteorological phenomena and the invasion of “Medea” caused problems in the movements, since even the main roads of the capital were dressed in white.
Even Syntagma and roads like Patision, Stadiou, Syggrou and the coast road, although open, are covered in snow.
According to the SKAI television channel, there are currently no OASA and ISAP services.
Recommendation to avoid traveling
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection sent a strong recommendation to residents and employees throughout Attica to avoid unnecessary travel for the next few hours.
The GGP asks residents not to make any moves they can avoid or postpone, and employees who need to move do so after 10:00 am. and in consultation with your employer.
According to the GGP, the snowfall will be continuous until 10:00 am. and great care is recommended to all citizens to be extremely careful in any of their absolutely necessary movements. The situation will be reassessed in the next three hours.
On Tuesday morning, the Vice Minister of the Interior, Stelios Petsas, sent via Twitter a recommendation to the residents of Attica not to travel for their safety.
