Plans by Turkey and Azerbaijan to seize control of Nagorno-Karabakh through a blitzkrieg have so far failed, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with Russia’s Sputnik news agency. Turkey deploys fighters from Syria to Nagorno-Karabakh.
“At the moment, the Nagorno-Karabakh Self-Defense Army is standing firm.” In fact, we can say that the plans of Turkey and Azerbaijan to take control of Nagorno-Karabakh through a blitzkrieg have failed so far, ” Pasinian said in a parallel interview with the Azeri and Armenian leaders Rossiya Segodnya International News Agency Dmitry Kiselev.
The Armenian prime minister has accused Ankara of being a key supporter of the escalation in the enclave, and Baku’s decision to launch hostilities was made under the auspices of Turkey.
“Now it is obvious that Turkey is the main supporter of this war … With the decision and patronage of Turkey, it was decided to start a war, an attack against Nagorno-Karabakh,” the Armenian leader stressed.
He also accused Turkey of using not only its own army in Nagorno-Karabakh, but also, according to reports, special forces of the Pakistani army.
He noted that Yerevan is ready to implement the ceasefire agreements reached in Moscow last week to end the conflict, adding that a compromise acceptable to all must be found.
