At a time when tensions are constantly rising with Turkey in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, the Greek Armed Forces stay on high alert, sending a message of strength and deterrence to provocative neighbors.
With the “sultan” Erdogan himself even threatens Greece with a war, the Navy, Air Force and Army are sending dynamic responses to the Turkish regime demanding a share of the wealth of the eastern Mediterranean.
The truth is that from March to August, from the Evros crisis until today, the Turks have realized and have felt good that Greece is neither Libya, nor Syria, nor Kurdish rebels, nor Iraq. It is a country with powerful Armed Forces, with an organized and well-trained Army and alliances that can change the data in any case.
Military sources characterize crucial in the coming days for the outcome of the Greek-Turkish crisis, with Ankara not taking out the Oruc Reis and the accompanying ships from the eastern Mediterranean and Athens feverishly preparing for any eventuality.
The Chief of General Staff Konstantinos Floros and the Heads of BranchThey analyze and evaluate every move in Ankara on a daily basis, shaping the strategy and next moves of the Greek Armed Forces.
The Greek military leadership, at the same time, is in charge of maintaining to the highest degree the operational readiness of the three Corps, carrying out Ongoing military exercises, which in addition to the experience and training they provide, also boost executive morale in this critical period.
The objective of the leadership of the Armed Forces is Athens to respond quickly to any challenge and always be one step ahead of its “neighbors”.
In the context of the operational preparation and training of the Armed Forces and by order of the Chief of Staff, per week from August 24 to 28, 2020 and throughout its Area of Responsibility, training activities were carried out, in which most of the personnel from the three Branches participated.
In these activities, exercises and shots were carried out Shooting ranges including PSILOU STALOU, AETOS, LITOCHOROU and KARAVION.
One of the main activities this week was the large-scale aeronautical exercise that took place from Tuesday 25 to Thursday 27 August 2020, southeast of Crete, Kasos, Karpathos and South Kastelorizo. The exercise was attended by the Navy Frigates, Submarines, Helicopters, Air Force F-16 aircraft as well as Special Operations divisions.
The exercise included elements of Marine Prevention, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Air Defense, Search and Rescue Combat and Logistics.
The images that see the light of day are breathtaking and confirm the excellent level of the Greek Armed Forces and demonstrate the maximum operational readiness of the Navy, Air Force and Army.

During all activities, it was found high professionalism, the emphasis on details during the execution of all the actions, the composure and the efficiency of all the personnel that participated, a fact that contributed to the achievement of all the objectives set by GEETHA.
According to the information, the military leadership is planning successive exercises both in the eastern Mediterranean and southern Crete, as well as in the eastern Aegean islands and Evros, with the participation of course of Army Units.
