Doctors consider the state of health of Archbishop Ieronymos stable, who is being treated with a coronavirus in an Intensive Care Unit of the “Evangelismos” hospital.

Archbishop Ieronymos was fever-free until noon, while in the afternoon he had a fever that reached 38. According to doctors, his oxygenation is under normal control and he has no other symptoms.

It is recalled that the Archbishop’s presentation took place shortly before 08:00 in the morning. The 82-year-old hierarch had a telephone conversation with Sotiris Tsiodras, during which EODY’s chief infectious disease specialist explained to the most blessed the reasons why he had to be hospitalized.

Advanced age, the sensitivity of a recent surgery, and the underlying illnesses he is facing left no room for more out-of-hospital stays.

The archbishop’s state of health is not a cause for concern at the moment. His fever reached 37.7 without any other symptoms.

To his closest collaborators, he was calm and sent a message of optimism, while saying that compliance with the measures is a sacred obligation of all.

The follow-up process has started

“The evolution of health is very positive. He was introduced to the Gospel without fever and remains without fever. “He was initially admitted to a single bed and then transferred to the MAF for precautionary reasons,” a spokesman for the Archdiocese of Athens said on Live News.

“All the necessary moves have been made,” Konidaris said when asked if a follow-up process had begun. “So far nothing positive has been found.”

“From the first moment the second phase of the pandemic broke out, the Archbishop underwent molecular tests every week to protect himself and the hierarchs,” he added.

As he said, immediately after the Holy Synod, he underwent a rapid and molecular examination and was diagnosed negative. Immediately after leaving for the holy monastery of Ag. Theodoron, he returned on Thursday 11/12, took another test and came back negative, before meeting with the prime minister.

On Monday, according to Mr. Konidaris, he underwent a test, received the results of the last tests on Tuesday 11/17, where he was diagnosed positive and after a suggestion from Mr. Tsiodras he was transferred to Evangelismos.
