Forty more people were added to the tragic death toll from the coronavirus on Saturday afternoon, according to the National Public Health Organization, while 262 new cases were recorded and the number of intubated patients dropped to 431.
Of the 262 new cases, 22 were identified after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 139,709, of which 52.3% are men. During the follow-up, it was found that 5,457 (3.9%) are considered related to trips from abroad and 41,741 (29.9%) are related to an already known case.
The mean age of the 431 intubated is 67 years. 288 (66.8%) of those intubated are men. 79.8% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years or older. Since the start of the pandemic, 896 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
With 40 new deaths, Greece reached a total of 4,921 in the country, of which 2,918 (59.3%) were men. The median age of death was 79 years and 95.5% had an underlying disease and / or were 70 years or older.
