The Turkish research ship reportedly approached the 12 nautical mile limit from Strongyli and 14 nautical miles from Megisti. It is recalled that the northern part of the illegal navtex reaches up to 6.5 nautical miles.

The investigation movement further north has put the Armed Forces and especially the Navy on full alert, which has significantly strengthened their presence in the area with strong Fleet units closely monitoring Turkish movements and giving an image direct from Athens in the operations center.
