Andros Fire: Two villages were evacuated as a precautionary measure - Firefighter injured

The fire that broke out in the Remata settlement on Andros is ongoing. The fire burns in low vegetation from 1:30 at night, since the strong winds that blow in the area make it difficult for the firefighters to work. A firefighter was injured during the fire who was previously transferred to the Health Center, from where he left a little later. According to information from enandro.gr, the winds carry the fire to Lefki beach and not to the green Rema.

Currently, there are 5 Fire Brigade vehicles, 15 firefighters and two airplanes. A group of pedestrians is on their way, having already left Athens to help extinguish the fire. According to the information, the mayor of Andros, Dimitris Lotsaris, called for the evacuation of the areas as a precautionary measure. These are the streams and the Arni. The mayor sent two water tankers to the scene to help the firefighters.
