Almost 26,000 requests were sent to the testing.gov.gr platform in the first days of its operation, while more than 13,000 tests have already been carried out, contributing decisively to the formation of the real epidemiological image of the country.

THE Free COVID-19 Test Form (testing.gov.gr) was launched a week ago with the aim of monitoring the spread of the coronavirus in the community and evaluating the so-called “positivity index”, monitoring randomly selected asymptomatic volunteers and evaluating 12,000 citizens daily.

The data:

The first days of operation of the platform throughout the Territory 25,786 applications were submitted. On the basis of these were carried out more than 13,000 tests until yesterday.

It is interesting that there are significant differences in the response of citizens throughout the Territory.

Specifically, 12,942 application forms were completed in Attica and 3,361 in Thessaloniki. In contrast, in islands and regions in northern Greece (such as Kastoria and Grevena), the number of applications is much lower.

Why should someone participate in testing.gov.gr?

The Government asks for the support of all citizens in this effort, when in reality everyone has the opportunity to take the tests for free.

Citizen participation will help experts to form a better picture of coronavirus transmission throughout the country with the aim of early detection of dispersal.

However, it can also help protect everyone personally with early diagnosis, but also protect vulnerable people in our immediate environment, should someone be diagnosed and are asymptomatic carrier.

Everyone’s participation is valuable. For us, for our neighbor, for our own people, for all of society.
